Dust Cleaner: Clear Lint & Dust from Speakers

Fast frequency sweeps shake loose dust and pocket lint stuck in your speaker mesh.

How to use it

Three quick steps.

Volume up, case off

Lint often hides under the case edge too.

Run the Dust sweep

The tone moves from 120 Hz to 1 kHz again and again.

Brush gently

Finish with a soft, dry toothbrush across the grille.

Why speakers get dusty

Pockets, bags and car cup holders are full of lint. Over months, it packs into the tiny holes of your speaker grille and blocks sound, especially high notes like voices.

Safe ways to clean after the sweep

  • Brush the grille with a soft, dry toothbrush using light strokes
  • Press a piece of painter’s tape on the grille and lift it off
  • Use a blower bulb from a short distance, not canned air pressed close

What not to do

Never push pins, needles or toothpicks into the holes. They can puncture the speaker mesh, and that damage is permanent.

Questions people ask

Can sound alone remove packed dirt?

Sound loosens dust, but packed grime usually needs a gentle brush too. Use both together for the best result.

How often should I clean?

Every few months, or whenever voices start sounding dull.

Is canned air safe?

Only from a distance and in short bursts. Strong air pressed against the grille can push dirt deeper.
