White, Pink & Brown Noise Generator
Play steady noise to test and break in speakers, find rattles, focus or fall asleep. Includes a sleep timer.
How to use it
Three quick steps.
Choose a color
White for rattles and tweeters, pink for testing and focus, brown for bass and sleep.
Set the side and volume
Play Left, Right or Both. Start quiet and raise it slowly.
Add a timer
Pick 15, 30 or 60 minutes so it stops on its own.
Which noise should you pick?
| Noise | Sounds like | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| ⚪ White | Bright hiss, like TV static | Finding rattles, buzzes and blown tweeters |
| 🌸 Pink | Steady rain | Speaker testing and tuning, focus |
| 🟤 Brown | Deep rumble, distant waterfall | Testing bass, sleep, blocking low noises |
Testing speakers with noise
Play pink noise at a medium volume and walk around the room. A good speaker sounds smooth and even. Buzzing, fluttering or a hiss from only one side points to a loose part, a damaged driver or a bad cable. Switch between Left and Right to compare the two sides.
Breaking in new speakers
Some people play pink noise at moderate volume for a few hours to loosen up a new speaker’s suspension. The effect is small and debated, but it does no harm at normal volume. Never run any sound at full volume for long periods.
Using noise for sleep and focus
Steady noise masks sudden sounds like traffic, voices or a snoring partner. Keep the volume low (around conversation level or less) and use the timer so it does not play all night.
Questions people ask
Is it safe to sleep with noise on?
Keep it quiet and use the timer. Experts suggest staying well below 70 dB for long listening.
Will it keep playing with the screen off?
Usually yes while the browser tab stays open. Some phones pause audio to save battery.
Which noise is best for testing speakers?
Pink noise. It matches how we hear, so problems are easy to notice.
What is the difference between white and pink noise?
White noise has equal energy at all frequencies and sounds bright. Pink noise drops at higher frequencies and sounds softer, like steady rain.
Can noise help a baby sleep?
Many parents use it at a low volume. Keep the device away from the crib and the volume quiet.
Does it work offline?
After the page loads, the noise is created in your browser, so it keeps playing without a connection.
