Water Eject: Remove Water from Your Phone Speaker

Play a 165 Hz tone that pushes water out of your speaker grille. Free, instant, no app.

How to use it

Three quick steps.

Turn volume to max

Remove the case and wipe the phone dry first.

Speaker facing down

Gravity helps the drops fall out as the tone pushes them.

Run 2 to 3 cycles

Test with music between cycles. Stop once sound is clear.

When to use Water Eject

Use it right after rain, a sink splash, a spilled drink or a dip in the pool. The sooner you run it, the better, because water that sits in the grille can leave mineral spots behind as it dries.

Signs water is in your speaker

  • Music and voices sound muffled or far away
  • You hear crackling or a bubbly sound at higher volume
  • Your phone shows a liquid or moisture warning on the charging port

After the tone: let it dry

Sound clears the grille, but tiny droplets can stay inside. Leave your phone in a dry, ventilated spot with the speaker facing down for at least an hour. Do not use a hair dryer on high heat and do not put your phone in rice.

Questions people ask

Is 165 Hz the best frequency for water?

It is a strong choice for most phone speakers because it moves the cone a lot without harsh distortion. Our tone also pulses, which helps shake drops loose.

How many times should I run it?

One to three 60-second cycles is enough for most spills. More than that rarely helps; give the phone time to dry instead.

Will it work after saltwater or soda?

It can clear the liquid, but salt and sugar leave residue. Wipe the phone with a slightly damp cloth, then run the tone and dry it well.
